Ans. It means number of trees grown together.

Then he struck the place forcefully. The melon broke in the throat of the camel and it was swallowed easily. This is how the camel was cured.

Ans. When the quack claimed that he could cure goiter the old woman requested him to cure her disease. She also said that she would bless him for evermore. The quack agreed and demanded a blanket and a good-sized mallet. As soon as they were brought he tied up the woman’s throat and struck the swollen part forcefully. The old woman instantly expired. This is how he tried to cure the old woman.

Q 13. How did the quack come to realize his error?
Ans. The quack did not realize his error even after killing the old woman and being punished by the villagers. He went to the next village and again claimed that he could cure goiter but if the patient would be killed he would not dig the grave. They refused to get treatment. Then he went back to camel-men. One of them proved him practically that camel was quite strong animal and could bear the forceful hitting but the old men and women could not. Then he realized his error.

Q 14. How did the camel-man prove the stupidity of the quack?
Ans. The quack called the camel-men foolish and told them the story of the old woman. They said that he was stupid. One of the men stepped forward and said to the quack that he would practically demonstrate this to him. He lifted a heavy stick bound with iron rings and struck a camel. There was a mild effect on the animal. Then he struck the quack a similar blow. He became unconscious. When his consciousness returned the camel-men told him “what is good for camels is not therefore good for poor old men and women”.

Ans. The story teaches us that a little learning is very dangerous. We should learn properly and then apply it to others. In our lust for money we forget that we are not fit for doing a job but persist in doing it. It brings disaster not only for us but also for others.
