John Keats said, " A thing of beauty is a joy forever".

Last year in summer vacation, I went to Quetta on a pleasure trip with my college friends. It was a nice trip which I shall never forget.

As it was very hot season, we decided to travel by a night train from Lahore. For about an hour  we had a joyful journey. As there was not much of sight seeing, we found pleasure in conversation which was mixed with jokes, songs and laughter.

Gradually our compartment because became over-crowded, and the atmosphere seemed to grow a bit dull. But to our joy, two travelers made it lively by their humorous talk. After some time we went to sleep.

Next morning, we got up just in time and the train arrived at Machh station. We disembarked from it and went to the bus station to reserve our seats. At this time, I had a glimpse of Bolan Mountains which were majestically bathing in the rays of the rising sun.

After some time our upward journey began. Our bus went on smoothly on the zigzag road and we were extremely pleased to see the beauty of the charming valleys which we passed by. It took about an hour to reach our destination, but it was an hour full of joy.

After reaching Quetta, we made necessary arrangements for our stay in a hotel. Then we went to Bolan Pass near Shahi Fountain. It looked so nice and sweet that I gazed and gazed at it. On reaching its shore, we plunged into its cool water and swam in it for about fifteen minutes.

In the afternoon, we went to a small but decent bazaar, and from there we went to Sun-Set Point. There were hundreds of people like us who had come there to see the glory of the setting sun. The sight of the setting sun was simply marvelous. Even today, it is fresh in my memory.

Next day, we had a long walk round Bolan Pass. This gave us new strength and spirit. In the afternoon we went to Ziarat. It is on a great height from which we had a good view of Bolan Mountains. From there we went to Chaman where some beautiful mosques are situated. The carvings on their walls and ceilings are exquisite in beauty and symmetrical design. These mosques are a rich treasure of inimitable art and my eyes feasted on their beauty to their fill.

On the third day, we made a programme for going to Zahidan which is at a distance of forty miles from Quetta. On the way, we made friendship with a few scouts who were also going there. On reaching our destination, we had breakfast. After that we went to a mosque, which is perhaps on the highest peak of Bolan Pass. From it we saw the wonderful valley and peaks of the mountains. There is a point called Quetta Point from which we had a glimpse of Quetta.

On getting information about some caves in the vicinity, we decided to see them. Two caves which we visited in the beginning did not impress us much. But the cave near Machh is a nice one.

Next day was the last day of our stay at Bolan Mountains. Hence in the morning we visited some minor points and in the evening we did boating in Chashma Shahi.

Thus our five days' stay at Bolan Mountains was over and we came down. On the same day we caught a train and reached home.

It was a memorable pleasure trip full of joy and adventure. It was a holiday from the humdrum of life and to forget our little worries of life. Certainly, I shall never forget those five days of heavenly bliss.
