Q:1 What does the sparrow hold in her beak?

Ans: She holds a grain of millet in her beak.

Q:2 What is the condition of young ones?

Ans: They are so tiny and small and they have no feathers.

Q:3 What is the problem of the mother sparrow?

Ans: She has only one grain to feed the ten young ones. She requires careful management.

Q:4 Why does the poet cite ‘fissuring the atom’?

Ans: The poet criticizes human beings that they have invented destructive weapons for massive killing by breaking the atom. It should be used for constructive purposes.

Ans: There are ten young sparrows in the nest who are so tiny and small.

Ans: The poet creates a resemblance between the splitting of grain and fissuring of an atom. The breaking of grain is life-giving but the breaking of atom is ruinous. If atom is broken for constructive purposes, it can also be life-giving.
