Use of “There”/ کا استعمال "There"

1. If the presence or absence is to be stated then “There” is used as Introductory subject.

2. Sometimes “There” is used without any meaning.

3. After “There” according to Tense and Subject any state of verb can be used (is, am, are, was, were).

1۔ جب کسی چیز کی موجودگی یا عدم موجودگی کو بیان کرنا ہو تو "There" کو فقرے کے شروع میں بطور "Introductory subject؛ntroductory subjectں بطور وجودگی کو بیان کرنا ہو تو "" استعمال کیا جاتا ہے۔

2۔ کسی بھی فقرے میں "There" عموما "٘Meaningless" یعنی بغیر معنی کے استعمال ہوتا ہے۔ فقرے ے شروع میں "وہاں" یا "یہاں" لکھنے کی ضروت نہیں ہوتی۔

3۔ There کع بعد زمانے Tense اور فاعلSubject  کے مطابق فعلVerb کی کوئی سی حالت is, am, are, was ,were استعمال ہوتی ہے۔

Examples

There are three boys in the class.

کمرہ امتحان میں تین طالب علم ہیں۔

There are two boys on the roof.

چھت پر دو لڑکے ہیں۔

Negative Sentences/منفی فقرات

For negative sentences “no” or “not” are used after the verb. For countable “not” is used and for uncountable “no” is used.

فقرات کو منفی بنانے کیلئے  فعل کے بعد "not" یا "no" لگایا جاتا ہے۔ تعداد کا حوالہ ہو تو" not" ورنہ "no" استعمال ہوتا ہے۔

Examples

There are not three boys in the classroom.

کمرہ جماعت میں تین طالب علم نہیں تھے۔

There are not two boys on the roof.

چھت پر دو لڑکے نہیں ہیں۔

There is no book on the table.

میز پر کوئی کتاب نہیں۔

There is no milk in the jug.

جگ میں دودھ نہیں۔

Interrogative Sentences/سوالیہ فقرات

For interrogative sentences Helping verbs is used at the start of the sentences and question marks is put at the end of the sentence.

فقرے کو سوالیہ بنانے کے لیے HV کو فقرے کے شروع میں لگایا جاتا ہے اور آخر میں سوالیہ نشان لگایا جاتا ہے۔

Are there three boys in the class?

کیا کمرہ جماعت میں تین طالب علم ہیں؟

Are there two boys on the roof?

کیا چھت پر دو لڑکے ہیں؟

Examples

1. There are many students in the classroom.

کلاس روم میں بہت سے طالب علم ہیں۔

2. There are many schools in this city.

اس شہر میں بہت سے سکول ہیں۔

3. There is no pen in my pocket.

میری جیب میں کوئی قلم نہیں۔

4. There is no interesting incident in this book.

اس کتاب میں کوئی دلچسپ واقعہ نہیں ہے۔

5. Is there anything in the bag?

کیا اس بیگ میں کچھ ہے؟

6. There is a university in our city.

ہمارے شہر میں ایک یونیورسٹی ہے۔

7. Were there flowers in the basket?

کیا اس ٹوکری میں پھول ہیں؟

8. Were there ten boys in the room?

کیا کمرے میں دس لڑکے تھے؟

9. There was no lion in the zoo.

چڑیا گھر میں شیر نہ تھا۔

10. There were no flowers in the garden.

باغ میں پھول نہ تھے۔
